Fastest I've run mine is 13.73 @ 103 with a 2.14 60' on street tires.
Anyone beat that in a protege?

Just behind you with a 13.89 but 104mph. DId 2.285 on the 60'. What are you running in your protege. I have a 93 lx that came with the 1.8 dohc that i swapped for the gtx engine, i'm still running the stock n/a ecu just retuned the airflow meter and running 10psi of boost. I'm hopping for low 13 next summer with good tire and the new air to water intercooler set-up. The car has been totally strip of the non usefull stuff and the inside garnish.

Im new to the Protege, the girlie just bought one a 1990 SE 1.8 SOHC. Figuring you 1320 types would know what would be the best when it comes to adding POWER ;D
What kind of parts and modifications have you done? I was thinking of just adding a header, I see there is the Pace Setter unit and the Cork Sport one. Which one is easiest to install and or is smog legal? I've seen Pace Setter products in the past, they are OK anyone have the Cork Sport header?
TIA

Unfortunately those headers are for the DOHC, not the SOHC you have. The best you could find is maybe a air intake and an exhaust for the SOHC. The DOHC is were it's at. Not to say you can't boost the SOHC, or squeeze it, but i'd suggest starting with the DOHC.
To build lots of power, dump the SOHC and drop in a GTX or GTR DOHC BPT and go from there.
Another option is to drop in a 2.5L V6 KLZE. A little more work, but a different approach.

slick, really a big addition but can be hard to heat on cold day. a limited slip diferentiel would also help a lot
