Welcome to MazdaRacers!
This forum was created for the amateur weekend racer to the dedicated professional, to bring Mazda race car drivers together under a commun roof to share ideas, gather valuable information, make new friends and help out the new drivers. Share your experiences, your first race, your first trophy, your first championship. That killer pass down the 1320, and how you squeezed 400hp out of a 4 banger. We want to hear your stories and learn from your experiences.
I am an SCCA Solo2 autocross racer myself, 2002 was my first year. I feel in love with the sport and have been hooked ever since. Racing is in my blood, always has been, but now it's finally rising to the top. Racers have a commun bond, a passion for cars and speed and this forum is for the Mazda Racers out there who love to race as much as i do. No matter the Mazda, no matter the type of racing you do, your always welcome here.
This is your forum, your comments and feedback will help guide it through the paces and conform itself to our needs. In it's present state, it's raw and rather quiet. But with the gathering support of Mazda race car drivers worldwide, i'm sure this forum will grow in no time.
I hope you enjoy the journey, as it's gonna be a fun one, i assure you.

I know there is a K8 that was factory supercharged, came in the 25th (i think it's the 25th) aniv. Millenia. Actually, i'm not even sure it made it to the USA, it did make it to Canada though, i know that for sure. Sorry i don't know what the numbers are the SC engine though.
It may be possible to hybrid the KLZE with the SC K8 for a nice little beast. Assuming it's worthwhile, power gain wise.

Unfortunately those headers are for the DOHC, not the SOHC you have. The best you could find is maybe a air intake and an exhaust for the SOHC. The DOHC is were it's at. Not to say you can't boost the SOHC, or squeeze it, but i'd suggest starting with the DOHC.
To build lots of power, dump the SOHC and drop in a GTX or GTR DOHC BPT and go from there.
Another option is to drop in a 2.5L V6 KLZE. A little more work, but a different approach.

Great Story Vincent! the fun is in the journey to the winners circle, might not be today, might not be tomorrow, but the journey contiues ;D It's not easy, it never is. It's a love hate relationship. You have to hate to lose, to love to win, and love to win, to hate to lose Keep at it. It's your first race, no shame in last at all, you finished and had fun doing it. Thats your victory! Learn from your mistakes and apply them to the next event. It takes time to put it all together and get into a rythm. I'm sure you'll be up there in no time.
